Pineapple Express

An atmospheric river that funnels warm, soaking moisture from near Hawaii into the West Coast. When one parks over Northern California or the Pacific Northwest, it can dump a year's worth of rain in days, melt mountain snowpack overnight, and trigger massive mudslides. The name has been on TV forecasts in Seattle and the Bay Area since the 1990s.
