clam gun

A 'clam gun' is the tool used to harvest razor clams along the Pacific coast, either a narrow shovel or, more commonly today, a hollow tube that pulls a core of wet sand to expose the clam. The term is standard on the Washington and Oregon coasts during razor-clam digs.
