Cincinnati chili

Created in 1922 by Macedonian immigrant brothers Tom and John Kiradjieff in Cincinnati, this is a thin, soupy meat sauce flavored with cinnamon, allspice, clove, and even cocoa, nothing like a Tex-Mex chili. It is served over spaghetti and ordered by the 'way': a 3-way is spaghetti, chili and a mound of shredded cheddar; 4-way adds onions or beans; 5-way includes both. Skyline and Gold Star are the famous chains, and you eat it with oyster crackers, not by twirling the noodles.
